Greater Capacity Makes Ramon the Perfect 'One Stop Shop' For The Janitorial Distributor
Founded in 1951, Ramon Knitting Company (as the company was formally known) started with only 6 members of staff in a small, 4’000sq.ft downstairs factory on Brighton Road. Today Ramon employ over 100 people and are widely considered a leading manufacturer and distributor of quality cleaning and hygiene supplies across the UK and Ireland.
Over the course of the last 68 years Ramon’s product range has grown significantly, and as a consequence so has the requirement for storage. We pride ourselves on being a convenient ‘one stop shop’ for the janitorial distributor as we hold a large selection of stock, so our customers don’t have too.
Building on this company ethos we are excited to announce we have recently completed construction of a brand new warehouse at our Thurmaston Boulevard site. This new facility will provide improved availability for customers and greater capacity for new innovative products.
After 2 years of planning and 6 months to construct, this NEW 21,000sq.ft building represents a multi-million pound investment.
Its 14 aisles holds an additional 3000 pallets and will be mainly used for the storage of imported finished bulk goods, bulk manufactured lines and imported raw materials. Currently Ramon import around £7 million worth of goods annually. The new building eliminates the need for 3rd party warehousing. With the construction of this new building all goods can be held on site, providing greater availability and service for customers.
The construction of the building itself is not the only improvement we have made. Stock will be managed with the introduction of a new warehouse management system. This will provide greater operational efficiency and also improve our quality procedures in line with our BRC accreditation.
